Jia Wong / India to Launch First Indigenous Hydrogen-Powered Train

본문
Making another stride toward adopting a green transport mode, India will soon roll out the maiden indigenous hydrogen train running between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana. Equipped with hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) systems, the hydrogen-powered train generates electricity via a chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen, leading to only water vapor emissions, thus becoming a smoke-free and pollution-free replacement for the diesel train. This venture not only shows India's railway board's green transportation initiative but also their effort to reduce carbon emissions and advocate for new clean energy developments. Senior officials opine that the initiation will not only help in advancing the country's railway structure but also in aligning with the nation's eco-friendly and sustainable future objectives.
